Pier One features light comedy




In "An Evening of Light Comedy," four short plays open this weekend at Pier One Theatre on the Homer Spit. The plays show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and next weekend June 14, 15, 16. The plays are:

• "Alyson and the Great Bagel Mistake," written by Dawson Moore of Valdez, described as "a modern hormonal fable," and starring Peter Sheppard, Maria Fourier, Amy Christianson, Jody Gaines, Cody Gaines and Jessica Williams;

• "You Damn Well Can Take It With You," written by Tom Moran of Fairbanks, about an Egyptologist who takes it up a notch — or two or three. Peter Norton and Margaret Quarton star.

• "At Sea," written by Nancy Lord, about two brothers-in-law searching for whales, the meaning of Tootsie Rolls and rescue, and starring Aaron Selbig and Ken Landfield;

• "Dead in the Water: A Play Noir for Three Hams," written by Aoise Stratford of Syracuse, N.Y. Described as "A dead male chauvinist pig, a woman with a pig fetish and a cop: What could possibly go wrong?", the play stars Jessica Williams, Cody Gaines and Linda Ellsworth.
