Chelsey Nieman

Chelsey Nieman graduated May 27 from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology and environmental studies. She was on the deans list for academic achievement, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class and cum laude. She is a 2008 graduate of Homer High School, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. Nieman previously worked with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Homer and plans to continue her studies for a masters degree in genetics. She is the daughter of Ron and Nancy Nieman of Homer.


Andrew Peters

Andrew Peters graduated from medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences on May 12. He also was promoted to lieutenant in the U.S. Navy on May 11 in a ceremony at PNWU. He will do his residency at the naval hospital in Bremerton, Wash., in family practice. He is a 2002 graduate of Homer High School and the son of longtime Homer residents Marvin and Vicky Peters.
