A community meeting will be held at 7 p.m. June 11 at American Legion Post 18 in Ninilchik to discuss the recent Homestead Fire in Happy Valley. Discussion will include reducing the risk of wildfire to home and property. Representatives from the Alaska Division of Forestry and the Kenai Peninsula FireWise Team will discuss resources available to help residents create defensible space.
