Classic musical opens at Pier One




"The Fantasticks," Broadway's longest running musical with 17,162 performances from 1960-2002, opens this weekend at Pier One Theatre on the Homer Spit. The story of two fathers who craft a feud to get their children to fall in love is directed by Lance Petersen, with musical direction by JulieAnn Smith.

Performances are at 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. "The Fantasticks" continues the next two weekends, June 12-15 and June 19-21, playing at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays and 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are $16, with discounts for Raven's Club members, seniors and students, and available at the Homer Bookstore, Etude Studio or online at www.pieronetheatre.org.
