Convicted Homer drug dealer Kostas Bairamis faces new drug charges in a federal grand jury indictment delivered last week. The May 15 indictment in U.S. District Court, Anchorage, charges Bairamis with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. The indictment alleges the crimes were committed between June 1 and Sept. 21, 2010. Bairamis was convicted in July 2011 and sentenced in November to 11 years in federal prison for dealing methamphetamines. If convicted on the firearms charge, federal law adds a 5-year minimum sentence to any other sentence.
