Firefighters at 9:50 p.m. went to Cottonfield Road for a fire out of control on three acres. The Alaska Division of Forestry helped put out the fire and they mopped up the fire on May 18.
May 18
Firefighters at about noon went to Iliamna Road for a two-acre grass fire that went into the trees. Forestry also responded with smoke jumpers and dropped water and chemical retardants. Quick Draw Water Supply provided tanker support. The fire spread to 12 acres before it was contained and extinguished.
May 19
Firefighters at 11:10 a.m. went to about a two-acre grass fire with vehicles in Kluchevaya past Nikolaevsk. Forestry responded and helped put out the fire by 1:40 p.m.
Firefighters at 8:40 p.m. went to a small fire on Danver Road and found it extinguished by the time they arrived.
