Inurnment will be at the Stariski Cemetery near Anchor Point, where her husband is buried.

Rucker was born in 1929 to Chris and Julia Steik, the fifth of 17 children. She met and married her husband John T. Rucker Jr. in 1950.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 10221 in Anchor Point.

Rucker was preceded in death by her husband and a son Roger Dale Rucker, both in 1986.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Leo, Alvin, Eugene, John and Mike Steik, Marion Hostetter and Doris Kelly, all of Ninilchik; Carl Steik of Anchorage and Shirley Warner of Twainharte, Calif.; children, Jennifer McGrady and her husband, Richard of Kenai, Christopher John Rucker of Anchorage, Vonnie Marie Fry and her husband, Dennis of Hayfork, Calif., and Russell Eugene Rucker of Anchor Point; grandchildren, Charlie Yamada and Felicia Edwards, both of Kenai, Justin McGrady of Willard, Mo., Heidi, Dennis Jr. and Dillon Fry; and four great-grandchildren.
