May 8

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to a 51-year-old Kasilof man for taking two halibut over his daily bag limit of two while fishing near Seldovia.

Wildlife troopers cited a 46-year-old Wasilla man for not having enough personal floatation devices on board while fishing in lower Cook Inlet.

Wildlife troopers cited a 64-year-old Solana Beach, Calif., man for fishing with more than one line and hook.

May 9

Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol troopers at 11:47 p.m. went to a single-car rollover near Mile 117 Sterling Highway near Clam Gulch. A 53-year-old Clam Gulch man died when he lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet truck while driving north near Mile 117 Sterling Highway near Clam Gulch. The car crossed both lanes, went into the southbound ditch and overturned, ejecting the man. Troopers said the man did not wear his seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
