Harold L. Storm Dour II

June 16, 1954-May 6, 2012

Harold L. Dour II, 57, born June 16, 1954, passed away on May 10, 2012, after an extended illness. He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Dour of Calgary, Alberta; wife of 26 years, Colleen Dour of Homer; son, Derek Dour, 21, of Kodiak and Homer; daughter, Miranda Dour, 18, of Homer; siblings, Dale and Eileen Dour of Lake Oswego, Oreg; Kathy Dour of Puyallup, Wash.; and Mark and Donna Dour of Chehalis, Wash. Nieces and nephews include Ashley of Chehalis; Brian of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Matt of Portland, Ore; Robert and his great-niece Patience of Chehalis; and Donald of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by his father Harold L. Dour, formerly of Tacoma, Wash.; his sister, Deanne Dour, formerly of Ohio; and his niece Nichol Dour, formerly of Bremerton, Wash.

During his 57 years, Storm lived a full life of extremes. He was a loving husband and father. He gave 110 percent of himself to his family. His passions included traveling, fishing, hunting, artwork and adventure sports (4-wheeling and snow machining). His talents included woodworking, jewelry making and carving. He loved and appreciated animals and nature. He always had pets, especially dogs. His life was not complete, though, until he had children. They were the light of his life. He never thought anything could be as good as puppies until his children arrived.

He resided in Kodiak for 15 years and then moved to Homer for the last 17 years. He always missed Kodiak, but never wanted to leave Alaska, until he got sick in recent years.

Burial service, for friends and family, will be held at the New Tacoma Cemetery. Mass will be held in Homer at St. Johns Catholic Church, followed by repasts at a later date and time, to be announced. Colleen will be visiting Kodiak and will announce a celebration of life at that time.
