Pet of the Week
Found on the side of the road, Quilla weighed a meager 35 pounds. She also had an infected face full of porcupine quills. Quilla allowed her kind rescuers to pluck out about 20 quills, but she eventually needed emergency veterinary care. This young, cream-colored retriever mix is now at the shelter, slowly recovering, eating well, sweet, quiet and happy to be alive. Unfortunately, there are still some quills migrating around in her head and she may need more health care. She also needs a good home with some two-legged friends who will help her recover and feed her healthy, quill-free meals.
