We early morning swimmers would like to extend a big thank you to the early morning lifeguards.
We'd like to especially thank both Bridget Kuhns and Elysha Chapple for showing up so faithfully for the 6:30 a.m. swim at the Homer High pool. Through snow, ice, wind and rain they came.
Often leaving home before the snowplows, Bridget Kuhns moved her car to Skyline far from home the night before and walks out to arrive at the pool well before the 6:30 a.m. opening to shepherd her swim teams and attend to the pool.
To them we extend a big thank you. Others are welcome too. With spring here there are typically several lanes open. The 6:30 a.m. swim in the warm water (84 degrees) is a great way to start the day.
