Head Banger's Ball comes to Armageddon Cafe Friday

Bands from around the southcentral Alaska converge on Armageddon Caf this Friday for the Head Banger's Ball. Performing from 7 p.m.-midnight are Red Path from Homer, Fallen Hero from Kenai and Stand Like Stone, Suicide Nation and Indecision, all from Anchorage. Organizer Colin McArthur said it's awesome to see some pan-peninsula cooperation among youth bands and that the concert should help build bridges to venues further north. There is a $7 cover charge.

Music lovers looking for gentler sounds can check out an acoustic night at Armageddon from 7 p.m.-midnight on Saturday, with five singer-songwriters featured. There's a $5 cover charge for Saturday's concert.
