Meetings




The Homer Soil and Water Conservation Service board meets at 5 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the USDA Service Center, 4014 Lake Street. The next meeting will be May 14. Call 235-8177 ext. 5.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Federal Programs Department will hold a Title VII Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee meeting from 1-3 p.m. May 15 in conference rooms A and B of the borough building in Soldotna. Parents and interested community members are invited to attend and should call 714-8892 ext. 8866.

The Department of Environmental Conservation Food Safety and Sanitation Program will hold a public teleconference from 6-7 p.m. May 15 to discuss regulations for producing and selling food at local markets. Attend the meeting at the Homer Legislative Information Office or call in at (800) 315-6338, code 2178#. Call 235-7878.

The International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) of Homer meets at 11 a.m. the first Friday of each month at South Peninsula Hospital, conference room 2. Call Mistee at 235-0118 or Ashley at 226-1137.

Birth 2 Three holds Daddy Play Group from 10 a.m.-noon the first Saturday of each month at 3691 Ben Walters Lane, Suite 4. The meeting is for fathers with children younger than 36 months old and helps give moms a break. To reserve a space, call 235-6044.

The North Gulf Oceanic Society and Kachemak Bay Campus holds a marine mammal stranding meeting at 7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the KBC commons. Meetings are open to all.

The Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help group meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Jin Shin Jyutsu office. Call 235-2943.

The Rotary Club of Homer Downtown meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Homer Senior Center dining room.

The Homer-Kachemak Bay Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon upstairs at the Best Western Bidarka Inn. Members and guests are welcome.

The Alzheimer's Resource of Alaska holds a twice-monthly mental fitness meeting. Call 235-3720.

Pratt Museum

The museum will return to summer hours on May 17 and will be open daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Fish feedings are at 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.
