May is Better Hearing and Speech Month, and in recognition of this, the Speech and Language Clinic at South Peninsula Hospital will offer free speech and language screenings all month. Whether you are concerned about your child's intelligibility, academic success or social skills, this is an opportunity to receive feedback on how you can support your child's communication development.

For more Information or to schedule a free screening please contact the SPH Speech & Language Clinic at 235-0372.

In addition, a special preschool story hour with South Peninsula Hospital speech therapist Amy Lower will be held at the Homer Public Library from 10-11 a.m. May 11. It will be devoted to fostering speech and language skills in children.

Topics include listening skills, self expression and social communication. Parent information on speech and language development will be provided and the speech therapist will be happy to answer questions.
