Anchor Point Volunteer Fire Department holds a fund-raiser car wash 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the fire station on Milo Fritz Road. There will also be tours of the fire station.

Anchor Point Community Clean Up Day starts at 10 a.m. for trash-bag pick up, coffee and refreshments at the Anchor Point Visitor's Center off of the Sterling Highway. Prizes donated by GCI will be awarded for most trash collected. Call 235-2600.

The Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Center and Kachemak Bay Research Reserve hold a Flora Rescue noon-4 p.m. at the site of the new Marine Science Center on the Bypass. Come dig up plants, trees and shrubs and find them a good home before later ground breaking and construction. Native plant specialist Toby Tyler will be on hand to provide advice.
