Choir's trip was great

Dear Editor,

Wow! They pulled it off. Thirty kids from the Homer High School choir, along with 30 community members, went to the Big Apple to perform Mozart's "Requiem" at Carnegie Hall and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Mark Robinson and Laura Norton did a great job of planning seven incredible days in the city: practices, performances, museums, three Broadway shows, shopping, a boat cruise in New York Harbor, NBC Studios, Rockefeller Center, Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Chinatown, and an emotional visit to Ground Zero. I think they ate and slept too! I'd like to thank all those involved for giving these kids an experience of a lifetime, and especially Mark for the passion and enthusiasm he displayed in the community performances of this great work, which he carried through to make the New York City trip a success.
