Homer Electric Association is going into its annual meeting in stronger financial shape than the year before, but weakened by an unexpected bill for $500,000 for wholesale power from Chugach Electric. Summer street reconstruction will cost about $1 million, Homer City Manager Larry Farnen said. The actual amount of work to be accomplished will depend on whether the $700,000 request for funds remain in the state budget.
