Tracksters ready for season

The shortened high school track and field season will finally begin for the Mariners Saturday as Homer will invite seven high schools to town.

Teams from Anchorage Christian School, Kenai, Nikiski, Ninilchik, Seward, Skyview and Soldotna are scheduled to attend.

The Mariner tracksters began practice March 10 and have just four weeks left in the season.

The borough track meet is scheduled for May 9 and 10 in Seward. Regions will be held in Palmer the following week, and the state meet will be held in Fairbanks May 23 and 24.
