Cockburn plays next week

Tickets are going fast for Bruce Cockburn, performing at 7 p.m. May 8 at the Mariner Theatre. Primarily a folk-rock singer-songwriter, Cockburn has explored other musical styles, including jazz, blues, reggae and world music. Often strongly political, his work on more than 25 albums includes classics like "If a Tree Falls" and "If I had a Rocket Launcher."

Tickets are $36, including $1 to benefit the shorebird festival, and on sale at Solstice Music, the Homer Bookstore and online at inticketing.com.
