In other action at the April 25 Homer City Council meeting:

n• Mayor James Hornaday proclaimed May 1-7 Municipal Clerks Week, May 15 Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 15-21 National Police Week.

City council members:

• Heard testimony from residents of the Kachemak Drive Phase Two water and sewer project. (See related story, page 3.)

• Introduced Ordinance 11-14, accepting a $15,000 Rasmuson Foundation Grant for collection development for the Homer Public Library, public hearing and second reading set for May 9;

• Introduced Ordinance 11-16, appropriating $20,000 to purchase a used light tower and used Dynapac Diesel Plate, with a public hearing and second reading set for May 9;

• Passed Resolution 11-041, approving an amended standard ground lease document;

• Passed Resolution 11-042, opposing a Kenai Peninsula Borough ordinance reducing the number on the Borough Planning Commission from 13 to 11 and combining the designated Homer and Seldovia seats;

• Passed Resolution 11-043, authorizing the city manager to issue a set of requests for proposals for five-year term contracts for engineering services;

• Voted down on the recommendation of city staff Resolution 11-045, which would have awarded a contract for the Deep Water Dock security gate and camera systems.
