The Homer Legislative information office will stream a statewide teleconference on May 6 about the Alaska redistricting board's draft plans. Plan presentation and invited testimony will be heard 9 a.m.-noon. Public testimony is open 2-6 p.m. For more information, call 235-7878.

The Kenai Watershed Forum is accepting applications from local artists and food vendors for booth space at the Kenai River Festival on June 10, 11 and 12 at Soldotna Creek Park in downtown Soldotna. Space is limited. Visit www.kenaiwatershed.org for more information and application details.

Alaska Marine Safety Education Association offers a 10-hour fishing vessel safety and drill conductor course in Homer on Saturday. Homer's cleanup day helps get Homer spruced up for the Shorebird Festival and the summer season. Bags are available now at the Chamber, Homer High School, Fritz Creek General Store, the Homer Brewing Company, Uncle Thirsty's and the fire hall. Trash drop-off will be Saturday 11a.m.-3 p.m. in the Chamber's parking lot. There will be cash prizes for the top trash collectors in each category, goodies for kids and free lunch for all participants starting at noon. For more information, contact Nyla at 235-7740.

Kachemak Kids Early Learning Center, a nonprofit organization, will hold its annual "garage sale" fundraiser on May 21. Drop off donation items at Kachemak Kids or at NOMAR 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday or call Jen Hakala at 299-0844 to arrange a pickup.
