April 16-22

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 11 medical calls and two fire calls.

April 19

Firefighters at 10:08 p.m. went to a smell of smoke at the Best Western Bidarka Inn. Firefighters found a small fire in the laundry area of the building and put it out. Crews also ventilated the building.

April 20

Firefighters went to a report of a large smoke column at the top of East Hill Road. They found a large slash burn being done without a burn permit. Firefighters issued a permit and warned the operator of current burn requirements. All open burning in city limits must have a valid permit. Permits are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the fire station.
