Homer Fire
Information about fire, police and troopers is taken from public records consisting of logbooks and press releases.

April 16

Firefighters at 5:17 p.m. went to an apartment at the Bypass and Crittenden Street for a cooking fire. Upon arrival they found the fire had been put out but the home still had smoke inside. They ventilated the kitchen and evaluated one resident for a minor burn.

Firefighters at 7:43 p.m. went to April Place to put out several unattended burn piles.

April 20

Firefighters at 7:55 p.m. went to a grass fire near a home on Jennifer Place. They found a foot-square burned area that had already been put out. Firefighters said children playing with matches caused the fire.

April 21

EMTs at 10:15 a.m. went to the airport to meet a 54-year-old man with a leg injury inbound on an aircraft from Nanwalek. They treated and transported him to the hospital.

Firefighters at 6:54 p.m. went to a grass fire on the Bypass between the Tesoro station and Eagle Food and Drug. They found two areas about 8-by-11 feet that were already put out. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

April 22

EMTs at 10:20 a.m. went to Homer Middle School for a 14-year-old girl who fell. They treated and transported her to the hospital.
