Head coach Lucy Mahan praised the club's youngest swimmers, saying the Novice and Dolphin members "were focused, right behind the blocks when they were ready to compete, yet relaxed and having a great time."
For several it was the first out-of-town meet, including Conner McCarron, who at age 7 is the team's youngest swimmer. Several swam personal bests, and triplets Emily, Katie and Marie Schmidt joined Olivia Wilhelmy to win the 100 free relay. McKenzie Mahan set a new club record in the 8-under girls 200 breaststroke, and won the 100 individual medley.
In the 10-under girls division, Barb Scott won the 50 free and 50 back and was second in the 50 fly, while teammate Rhoslyn Jennings took second in the 50 back and 100 IM and Kristen Faulkner finished second in the 100 free.
In the 11-12 girls division, Grace Harrison, Jennifer Bitterman, Jaclyn Arndt and Jorden Greiner teamed up to the win the 200 free relay. In addition, Greiner had first-place finishes in the 100 IM and 100 breast and was second in the 50 free and 50 fly. Bitterman nearly toppled Greiner in the 100 breast, losing first place by just 0.09 seconds. She did, however, win the 100 free, and was second in the 100 IM.
Other highlights were Harrison winning the 50 free, Arndt's second in the 50 back, and Jenny Dunne and Katie Miller finishing 3-4 in the 100 IM.
Among boys in the 11-12 division, Brian Ritchie won the 100 free, and took second in the 50 free and 100 IM, as well as helping teammates William Faulkner, Skylar Paul and Dakota Zellin win the 200 free relay. Zellin also won the 100 IM and was second in the 100 back, while Faulkner was second in the 100 free and 50 fly and Paul took second in the 100 breast.
Among girls 13 and over, the club swept first and second in the 200 free relay, Katie Faulkner won the 100 fly and took three seconds, while Lauren Bell was second in the 50 and 100 free events. Rhiannon Jennings won the 200 IM, just ahead of teammate Deannie Andree.
Anthony Augusto nipped Andrew Faulkner by less than half a second to win the 200 fly, with Brian Ritchie in third. Augusto also narrowly won the 200 free, ahead of Faulkner by just 0.33 seconds. Sterling Gillon was third.
