The state Senate did not included funds for the proposed Homer harbor improvement project in its $230 million state capital projects budget. The city remains hopeful funding will be found for the multi-million Homer plan.
Temporary repairs to recent wave damage and erosion of the Homer Spit Road could be started within two weeks and completed by June at a cost in excess of $500,000, officials said. Permanent repairs, such as a breakwater, are still a year away. <> from the issue of April 22, 1982
