I have been working with this group supported by Total Reclaim and locally organized by Nina Faust and Cook Inletkeeper for a couple of years and find the amount of material kept out of the landfill to grow each year. This is a testament to the Homer community's dedication to making the world a better place.
This is a great time to upgrade that heavy, old TV set to an "Energy-Star" model and bring the old dinosaur right on down for proper disposal. Marine electronics are accepted, as well.
So, check out the shed, clean out the garage and load that stuff up and bring it down to Spenard Builders Supply Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Watch the newspaper and check out the posters around town for information about what is accepted and what the fees are and if you still have questions, or just want to help, call Nina at 235-6262
