Pet of the Week
photo: towncrier
A book should not be judged by its cover, nor should a cat be judged by his name. It doesn't really matter that Spot is totally creamy-white or that his name is more traditionally given to dogs. What does matter is that he has a personality without blemish: demonstrative, friendly and outgoing. This 2-year-old neutered male loves to play and be held and brushed. His purr is hearty and his heart is pure. He gets along well with other cats and he's very anxious to become someone's new pet.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Homer Animal Shelter on the Bypass across from the post office. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Call 235-3141, e-mail, or visit
