In seven events, the 14-year-old Faulkner posted six first-place finishes <> 1,650-yard freestyle, 1,000 free, 500 free, 200 free, 400 individual medley and the 200 butterfly <> and a third in the 200 IM. She narrowly missed an overall title, finishing with 136 total points, just four points behind overall winner Sarah Rockwell of Anchorage.
Kevin Wythe also performed well, finishing in sixth overall with individual firsts in the 500 free and 50 free. Wythe also a pair of seconds and a pair of thirds.
The strong swimming of Faulkner and Wythe have earned them a chance to swim in the western zones in August, which qualify swimmers to compete in junior nationals.
The 20 swimmers from the Kachemak Swim Club participated in the three-day meet at Bartlett
High School.
