Senate district pairs Homer-Kodiak
Homer and Kodiak are still paired together in a new Alaska Senate district after the Alaska Redistricting Board redrew its maps under court order, and the attorney representing the board said he believes the Alaska Supreme Court will accept the new plan.

According to Anchorage attorney Phillip Volland, the board met last week and adjusted the boundaries of districts in Anchorage, Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Borough.

"What the board did fully complies with the Supreme Court order," he said. In addition, all nine of the plaintiff groups that had appealed the original boundary lines agreed to support the new plan, Volland said.

If the redistricting plan is adopted, House District 35 will contain Homer, Seward, Anchor Point and Kachemak Bay villages. The district will then pair with Kodiak to form Senate District R.
