Pet of the Week
Most people don't know this, but in some canine circles, Girl Scouts top the list as the tastiest treats. Girl Scouts selling cookies are even better because they bring dessert with them. So when such a group of sweet young maidens walked into the Animal Shelter recently, some of the dogs were salivating. But not Buddy. He was gentle and kind to the girls, letting himself be petted and pinched and prodded. That's because all Buddy wanted was to go home with one of them. He's a real home-"buddy" who just wants a house of his own, a car to ride in and a family to love.
If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Homer Animal Shelter on the Bypass across from the post office. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Call 235-3141, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org., or visit www.homeranimals.com.
