Obituary
John Ireland, 88, one of Homer's beloved elders, died of cancer April 6 at South Peninsula Hospital. There will be a memorial service for him at 7 p.m. today at the Homer Christian Church, 865 East End Road, the Rev. Pat McDonnell officiating. Burial with military honors by the Homer American Legion Post is 11 a.m. Friday at Hickerson Memorial Cemetery on Diamond Ridge Road.
