The 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt was a big success! Over the last month, organizers asked Homer businesses to donate auction items and/or distribute bonus points. It is largely due to their donations that we raised more than $2,500 for local charities! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
On the day of the hunt, eight teams came out to try to raise funds for the charity of their choice. Team Family Planning took first, taking home half the loot. The Teen Center and Clave Productions won second and third, respectively. The American Legion team playing to benefit the Auxiliary sponsored softball team won $100 for gathering the most bonus points.
Thanks to all the cooks for providing a great breakfast and yummy corned beef and cabbage dinner. All the volunteers who jumped in at auction time, your help was wonderful (especially you, Colleen!). Again, this fun event would not have been possible without generous Homer businesses. Thank you! Also thanks goes out to all the organizers, and especially the players, without whose turnout this event wouldn't have been such a success. See you next year!
