Thodos dance group performs April 14

The Homer Council on the Arts presents Thodos Dance Chicago, performing at 7 p.m. April 14 in the Mariner Theatre. Reviewers have described Thodos as "breathtakingly athletic," "powerfully beautiful" and performing "vibrant choreography."

Founded 20 years ago by Melissa Thodos, the ensemble presents contemporary dance that incorporates a variety of forms. Its mission also includes teaching. Thodos offers several master classes in beginning-intermediate hip hop from 4:30-6 p.m. Friday at the Mariner and introductory and advance modern dance and jazz from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mariner.

Dance classes are $15 students and $20 adults each. Register by calling 235-4288 or online at www.homerart.org. Tickets to the performance are $20 youth, $25 HCOA members and $35 general admission, available at HCOA, the Homer Bookstore or online.
