McNeil takes top honors in district forensics



Staff report

The 2011 Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Forensics Competition was held at Sterling Elementary School on March 5. McNeil Canyon Elementary School students brought home the following awards:

First place, interpretive reading multiple, grade 6: Johanna Allen, Denauli Asbell, Erin Farrell, Eryn Gillam, Lauren Jones, Maya Jones, Uliana Reutov;

First place, interpretive reading multiple, grade 5: Kiriana Basargin, Aunia Ormond;

First place, interpretive reading single, grade 5: Falcom Greear;

First place, storytelling, grade 4: Costa Bambakidis;

Second place: interpretive reading multiple, grade 4: Lydia Chernishoff, Lilly DeArmoun, Lia Jacobsen;

Third place, storytelling grade 5: Alissa Cole;

Third place, humorous poetry, grade 5: Raisa Basargin;

Participant, humorous poetry, grade 4: Daniel Anufriev.
