The newly formed Kachemak Bay Running Club will have its first fun run of the season, followed by a membership kick-off party at Alice's Champagne Palace on Friday. The run begins at 5:30 p.m. and makes a loop beginning on Pioneer Avenue at Alice's, continuing to and turning right on Heath Street, right on the Sterling Highway, right on Pioneer and finishing at Alice's. It is approximately two miles in length. The party begins at 6:30 p.m., and includes a discussion of club goals and an election of board directors. On the ballot are Bill Steyer for president, Randy Wiest for vice president, Andy Haas for secretary, Richard Burton for treasurer, and Saundra Hudson and Andrea Petersen for members at large.
