Jason Michael Holmes, 33, died Feb. 28, 2012, in Arlington, Wash., in an automobile accident. There will be a celebration, wake and memorial of Jasons life starting at 6:30 p.m. March 31, 2012, at Bishops Beach in Homer. Bring pictures, memories, songs, stories, wood, music, drinks and warm clothing for the kids. There will be a projector for pictures and a recording of his memorial in Washington.

Jason was born March 20, 1978, in Fairbanks. He loved hard, honest work, as a construction foreman with his own crew. Jobs came by word-of-mouth. He loved the outdoors, any season, and played as hard as he worked. He enjoyed concerts, music, fixing automobiles both his own and those of others dancing, and spending quality time work or play with family friends and loved ones. His true love was Alaska, the Last Frontier. Jasons ashes will be put out to sea at the end of the Homer Spit. Both sets of his grandparents homesteaded in North Pole well before Alaska became a state.

Jason is survived by his daughters, Jada, 8, and Hailey, 12, who he loved more than life itself. Jason also is survived by his mother, Annmarie Ames Holmes Squires of Homer; stepdad, Michael Squires of Homer, plus extended family; brother, Steven Squires of Homer; sister, Megan Squires of Washington; niece, Chevelle Johnston of Washington; two grandmothers, Joan Marie Ames of Fairbanks and Sylvia Holmes Spencer of North Pole; his favorite uncle and mentor, Daniel O. Ames of Soldotna; his big-hearted uncle Mark Allen Ames of Kenai; his adventurous Aunt Mariann Ames and Uncle Mark Gumaer; cousins, Tanya, Will and Amanda Ames of Soldotna and Washington, who grew up like brothers and sisters with him from Barrow to Homer; his father, Thomas E. Holmes; and brothers, Tommy, Chris, Jeffrey and Michael Holmes, all of of North Pole.

We will always love you and never forget you, Jason. Forever and a day youll be in our hearts everywhere we go, his family said. Never goodbye!

A trust has been set up for his daughter, Jada J. Holmes, at the Homer branch of First National Bank.
