New way to bring visitors to Homer

Athletes from around the state completed the first annual beautiful and challenging Homer Epic 100k in the Caribou Hills on March 24 and 25. This Kachemak Nordic Ski Club event was a huge success. Thanks to Snomads for their help and support and for allowing us to use their Snomads Palace for check point 1. Also a huge thank you to all the volunteers who put hours of their time in to ensure this event ran smoothly and safely. Without Home Run Oil and the following sponsors very very generous support, this event could not have happened: Home Run Oil, Homer Saw and Cycle, CCL Lodge check point 3, True North Kayak Adventures, Fritz Creek General Store, Free Spirit LLC, Ulmers, Lands End Resort, Busy Bee Errand Service, Nomar, Kachemak Gear Shed, Beemuns Bike & Ski Loft Soldotna, Bear Creek Winery, Homers Jeans, Paramount Cycles Anchorage, Speedway Cycles Anchorage, Homer Inn and Spa, Loopy Lupine Distribution LLC, Captains Coffee, Art Shop Gallery, Cycle Logical, the Homer Brewing Company and Spenard Builders Supply.

This unique ultra-distance human-powered event supported by different user groups, the community and businesses has created a healthy and exciting way to bring visitors to Homer during a slow time of year.
