Fireweed Academy students know all about structures. In fact, after six weeks of research, they wrote about and hand-built structures of their own. The student-made models, with story boards describing what they'd built were presented to classmates, teachers, family and friends, with the students answering questions and describing the importance and historical significance of the structures they had made. The quarter-long study was approached from multiple perspectives, including language arts, social studies and mathematics.
