Marquella Dawn Abbott and Robert Earnest Grote

Marquella Dawn Abbott of Homer and Robert Earnest Grote of Texas were married at high noon Feb. 25, 2008, at their home in Fairbanks. They drank merlot to celebrate.

Marquella is the daughter of Wanda Sue Greenshields of Tucson, Ariz., and Mason Dale Abbott of Kenai. She graduated from Ruskin Christian School in Florida and works as a supervisor at Jo-Ann Fabrics in Fairbanks.

Robert is the son of Earnest Grote of Kingman, Ariz. He graduated from Odessa College in Odessa, Texas and is a stay-at-home husband.

"We met three months ago and knew right away," the couple said.
