Kenai Peninsula College Council will meet at 6 p.m. today. The registration deadline for MS Word and MS Excel classes starting March 20 is March 16. Register now for Upcoming classes: Quickbooks, March 31-April 28; Marine Vertebrates, March 27-April 24; Garden Design with Brenda Adams, March 31-April 7. Registration has started for June workshops: Watercolor Painting with Jan Peyton, June 15-18 and Plants/Flora of Kachemak Bay with Ed Berg, June 16-July 14.

The Hollywood Alaska film series continues at 6:30 p.m. March 21 with Ice Palace, the epic of Alaskas struggle for statehood, starring Richard Burton and Robert Ryan, based on the 1957 Edna Ferber novel.

The Ripple Effect film series, which explores thought provoking issues, begins with King Corn on March 22 at 5 p.m., followed by Big River and Weather the Storm at 7:15 p.m. We feed the World will be shown on March 29 at 7:15 p.m. and Addicted to Plastic shows on April 5 at 7:15 p.m.

The national GED exam-testing program will soon become computer-based with an increase in fees. If you have not finished your GED testing, do it now. Call Kachemak Bay Campus at 235-1602 for an appointment.

Kachemak Bay Campus has free classes for people who want to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills. Call 235-1602 to sign up.

KBC will be closed starting March 16 for Spring Break.
