Chamber lunch features how to cut energy costs

Are you a small business on the Kenai Peninsula that wants to reduce your energy costs? The next Homer Chamber of Commerce luncheon on March 13 will feature the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Advocates. The luncheon, which begins at noon, will be in the Homer Senior Center Dining Room, 3935 Svedlund St. The pubic is invited.

Taz Tally will present the program on free commercial energy audits that are available to small businesses.

"The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Advocates have secured a USDA energy grant to provide commercial energy efficiency audits for small businesses, and help paying for energy efficiency upgrades," according to a press release. The audits and subsequent upgrades can help businesses save 10-50 percent on their energy costs. In addition to the audit, the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Advocates provide post audit consultation, vendor recommendations, information on USDA grants and loans that are available and USDA grant application assistance. For more information about the program, call Tally at 235-3793.

The optional lunch on March 13 is available for $12 for chamber members and $14 for nonmembers. Please RSVP for lunch by Friday to 235-7740 or by emailing membership@homeralaska.org.
