Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies to host next mixer

The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies will host the next Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center mixer from 5-7 p.m. March 22 at 708 Smoky Bay Way. The event is open to the public.

This year the center is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is highlighting 30 events that have occurred during that time.

"We invite the Homer business community to share memories of how they 'fit' in those 30 years. So many have helped us bring kids to Peterson Bay, provided transportation for CoastWalk marine debris cleanup, fed volunteers (and staff), supported our programs and attended our outdoor programs (where did you go on your fourth-grade field trip?)

"We invite you to sign the memory books, identify yourself in photos, help us remember and celebrate," writes the center's staff.

Plus, the mixer will be a chance to see the renovation of the center's headquarters since the 2011 flood.

Everyone who attends the mixer will be entered in door prize drawings, including a half-price Peterson Bay Guided Natural History Tour for a group of four.

For more information, call the chamber at 235-7740.
