The deadline for the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival Amateur Photo Contest is 6 p.m. May 3. Photos can be entered in the categories of Alaska wildlife, Alaska scenic and Alaskana – human interest. Photos do not have to be of shorebirds. Cash prizes are offered in all categories and for best of show, and ribbons are offered for honorable mentions and the People's Choice winner.
