Troopers seek assault suspect

Alaska State Troopers are looking for information about a man wanted in a gun assault on two Anchor Point men Tuesday night. According to a press release, troopers said a man followed two Anchor Point men driving home from Kenai to their home. About 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 the suspect confronted them over a rock he said hit his car when the Anchor Point men passed him. The suspect drew a handgun and fired three shots at the victims, with one shot hitting the ground and the other shots going over their heads.

The men described the suspect as being Hispanic or a light-skinned African American, 25 to 30 years old, with short hair, a thin black mustache and wearing a ball cap. He drove a dark-blue 2009 or 2010 Chevrolet or GMC Blazer-type car with custom rims and tires and blue-white custom headlights. The men told troopers they believed the suspect fired a revolver.

Troopers are continuing their investigation.
