In addition to parade participants, a crew of volunteers made the event a success in spite of cold temperatures and a freezing wind. "The Homer Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a warm thank you to all the amazing volunteers and public servants who helped make the 2011 Winter Carnival parade a success," said Nyla Lightcap, visitor center manager, adding, "Thank you to the public for coming out on a cold winter day to enjoy the parade."
