Longtime Anchor Point resident, Mrs. Karisten Karri Yvonne Day, 50, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer. Services will be held in the spring of 2012.

Mrs. Day was born Sept. 6, 1961, in Santa Cruz, Calif. She first moved to Alaska in 1983. During her long and loving life, she enjoyed painting, playing cards and gardening. She touched the lives of every person she came in contact with

The family wrote, We will remember Karri (Mom) as a good friend to listen to and someone who gave the best hugs in the whole world. The world is a much darker place without her and she will be missed immensely.

Karisten is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Day; sons Jeremey Day of Anchor Point and Jathan Day of Anchorage; mother, Constance Smith of John Day, Ore., and her sister, Sandi Edwards of Pocahontas, Ark.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
