Where's help when its needed?

OK, so in the health care system, unless you have insurance, are single with young kids or elderly, you dont count. I have been turned away so many times now that it is to the point that I am going to just have to suffer with the pain. We are not all able to afford insurance. No, I am not working neither is my better half but yet I do not qualify for medical help. Just what, I wonder, am I supposed to do? At the rate I am going, I will not be able to walk without crutches for the rest of my life. Any opinions would be gladly accepted.
