The Alaska Small Business Development Center is offering several programs this month, including: • A free, one-hour business startup orientation program from 11 a.m.-noon Feb. 25 at the Homer Chamber of Commerce conference room. The deadline to register is Feb. 18. • A free, two-hour website orientation program presented by Eric Schmidt from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Homer Chamber of Commerce conference room. The program is entitled "Why a Website?" Once you learn the basics, additional workshops will be offered that walk participants through more website details. The deadline to register is Feb. 18. • A two-day "Profit Mastery" seminar will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1. Cost is $395. Led by Bryan Zak, the ASBDC's Southwest regional director, the seminar is billed as "the best opportunity for knowledge-driven financial management education." The course will help you set goals for the future of your business, control spending and pricing and leave you with a process to assess the performance of your business and a strategy to implement change. The deadline to register is Feb. 15.
