Harold Dusenbery


July 28, 1920-Nov. 30, 2011

Former Kenai Peninsula resident Harold Dusenbery died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, in Asland, Mo. He was 91.

A memorial service will be held for Harold at a later date in Alaska.

Harold was born July 28, 1920, to Roy and Edna Dusenbery in Van Buren, Mo., and graduated from high school there. He served his country with pride during World War II and was married to Rosaleen York, who preceded him in death after 57 years of marriage.

Harold lived in Homer from 1962-2000 and then in Kenai from 2000-2005. He then moved back to Missouri where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his sister Louise Dusenbery; daughter Ann and her husband, Jim Greer; son Thomas Dusenbery and his wife, Karen; and daughter Jennifer and her husband, John Reynoldson. He also is survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all of Alaska; two nieces and one nephew of Bellingham, Wash.; as well as his special friend Evelyn Vovolka of Ashland.
