Homer cyclists deserve respect

I firmly believe that one positive change in society can inspire, create and eventually lead to greater changes in the future. The Homer Cycling Club is inspiring one of those important changes in Homer. Every time I see Homer Cycling Club news articles and sponsored events or when I see Homer's burly bikers cycling to work during this epic winter, I give thanks for you.

You are a change agent for a healthier environment and for the future. Anybody who is trying to reduce our carbon footprint and improve our air quality deserves admiration and respect. We, as a community, should enhance infrastructure that supports bicycling and we should be respectful to cyclers on the road. Thank you for your passion, dedication and improvement to our community. As Margaret Mead said: "A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
